Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Beef (80/20)
4 Slices Cheddar Cheese
4 Slices Bacon
1 Onion (sliced)
4 Slices Bread (for toasting)
1 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook the bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside on paper towels to drain the excess fat.
Caramelize the onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over medium heat until soft and caramelized (about 10 minutes). Set aside with the bacon.
Form the patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty. Season each side with salt and pepper.
Cook the burgers: Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until your desired level of doneness is reached. In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover with a lid to melt.
Toast the bread: While the burgers cook, toast the bread slices in a separate pan with olive oil until golden brown on both sides.
Assemble the burger: On the bottom slice of toasted bread, layer the burger patty, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and top with the second slice of bread.
