Strawberry Heart Pastries Recipe
Ingredients:
• 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
• 6 fresh strawberries, sliced into heart shapes
• 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
• 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
• 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
3. Place half of the pastry hearts on the baking sheet. Spread a small amount of strawberry jam in the center of each.
4. Layer a sliced strawberry heart on top of the jam.
5. Using a smaller heart cutter, create a border for the remaining pastry hearts and place them over the jam layer.
6. Brush the edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
8. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
