Steak Caprese Salad
Ingredients
1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your favorite cut)
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking steak)
2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
8 oz fresh mozzarella, cubed or sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil (for salad)
1 tbsp balsamic glaze (more for drizzling)
Optional: Crusty bread for serving
Directions
Cook the steak:
Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak to your desired doneness (3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare). Rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
Assemble the salad:
On a platter, arrange the halved cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Lay the sliced steak over the top.
Drizzle & garnish:
Drizzle the salad with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with additional salt and pepper if desired.
Serve:
Enjoy immediately as a light meal or pair with crusty bread for a hearty dinner.
