Spicy Shrimp Pasta with Garlic Cream Sauce
Ingredients
For the Pasta:
12 oz spaghetti or linguine
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Shrimp:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Garlic Cream Sauce:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ cups heavy cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Garnish:
Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Cook the Pasta:
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Cook the Shrimp:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the shrimp, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp are pink and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Cream Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, whisking until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Toss the cooked pasta in the garlic cream sauce until fully coated. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and gently combine.
Serve:
Plate the spicy shrimp pasta and garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh finish. Sprinkle extra red pepper flakes for an added kick.
