Smothered Tater Tot Beef Skillet

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bag (16 oz) frozen tater tots
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions

Cook the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced onion. Cook until the beef is browned. Stir in garlic, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess grease.

Add the Sauce: Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Layer the Tater Tots: Arrange the tater tots evenly over the beef mixture in the skillet. Cover and let simmer for 10–12 minutes, allowing the tater tots to heat through.

Optional Cheesy Finish: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots and cover for 2–3 minutes until melted.

Garnish & Serve: Top with fresh parsley and serve hot!
