Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs
Ingredients
6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1/3 cup (80ml) soy sauce
1/3 cup (80ml) honey
1/4 cup (60ml) ketchup
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening sauce)
2 tbsp water (for thickening sauce)
For garnish:
Sliced green onions
Sesame seeds
Directions
Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, ketchup, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Add to slow cooker: Place chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring they are fully coated.
Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
Thicken the sauce: Remove the chicken from the slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add the slurry to the sauce in the slow cooker and stir. Let it cook on high for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
Assemble and garnish: Return the chicken to the slow cooker or serve directly over rice or noodles. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
