Description
Skillet Apple Glazed Pork Chops
Ingredients
4 bone-in pork chops (1-inch thick)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 apples (sliced)
2 tbsp honey
1/3 cup apple cider
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Fresh thyme (for garnish)
Directions
Season the pork chops: Pat pork chops dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and cinnamon.
Sear the pork chops: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Cook the apples: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet, then add apple slices. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until tender.
Make the glaze: Stir in honey, apple cider, and Dijon mustard. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce begins to thicken.
Finish the dish: Return the pork chops to the skillet. Spoon the apple glaze over the chops and let cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Serve: Plate the pork chops with the apples and sauce. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve warm for a comforting fall-inspired meal.
