Pan-Seared Pork Chops
Ingredients
2 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (plus more for serving)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the pork chops to the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and thyme to the skillet.
Baste the pork chops with the melted butter and garlic for another 2-3 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.
