1 head of green cabbage, sliced into 1-inch rounds
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup tomato sauce or ketchup
1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or Monterey Jack), divided
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red chili flakes
1 tsp grated garlic
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup chopped parsley
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange cabbage slices on a baking sheet, brush with oil, and season with salt and pepper. Roast for 10 minutes.
2. Combine beef, garlic, onion, parsley, chili flakes, half the cheese, salt, and pepper. 3. Form 4 patties.
4. Remove cabbage, spread with tomato sauce, sprinkle with cheese, and top with patties. Add more cheese on top.
5. Bake for 12 minutes or until beef is cooked and cheese is bubbly. Serve hot with fresh herbs.
