Mini Puff Pastry Meat Bites
Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1/2 lb (250g) ground beef or sausage
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
1. Prepare Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned.
Add chopped onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until the onions are soft. Set aside to cool.
2. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
3. Cut Puff Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into small circles using a cookie cutter.
4. Assemble:
Place a spoonful of meat filling on one circle and cover with another. Seal edges by pressing gently.
5. Brush with Egg Wash:
Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg for a golden finish.
6. Bake:
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
7. Serve Warm:
Arrange on a plate and serve as an appetizer or snack.
