Homemade Wonton Soup

Ingredients

For the Wontons:

1 package wonton wrappers
200g ground pork or chicken
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced ginger
1 green onion, finely chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
For the Broth:

4 cups chicken broth
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small piece of ginger, sliced
2 green onions, chopped
Optional: Spinach, bok choy, or cilantro for garnish
Directions

Prepare the Wontons:

In a bowl, mix the ground pork/chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onion, salt, and pepper.
Place 1 tsp of filling onto the center of a wonton wrapper. Fold into a triangle and seal edges with water, then bring the corners together to create the wonton shape.
Make the Broth:

In a large pot, heat the chicken broth with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and green onions. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Cook the Wontons:

Bring the broth to a gentle boil and add the wontons. Cook for 5–7 minutes or until they float to the top.
Serve:

Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with sesame seeds, cilantro, or chopped green onions, and enjoy!
