Hibachi Steak
Experience the sizzle of a Japanese steakhouse from your very own kitchen! This hibachi steak recipe combines juicy bites of steak with a vibrant mix of mushrooms, onions, and zucchini. Everything is coated in a rich, savory-sweet sauce made with soy sauce, mirin, and honey that’s sure to impress your taste buds. It’s a perfect weeknight meal or special occasion treat.
1 lb sirloin or NY strip steak, bite-sized
2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
1 tsp sesame oil
8 oz white mushrooms, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
2 zucchini, cut into ½-inch sticks
2 tbsp butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
1 tsp honey
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame seeds & sliced green onions for garnish
Directions:
1. Season steak with salt & pepper. Cook in skillet with 1 tbsp oil for 2-3 mins per side. Set aside.
2. Sauté mushrooms & onions in remaining oil & sesame oil for 4-5 mins. Add zucchini, cook 2-3 mins.
3. Push veggies aside, melt 1 tbsp butter, add garlic & sauté 30 secs.
4. Add sauce, steak, & remaining butter. Cook 1-2 mins.
5. Garnish & serve hot.
