Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti (or your favorite pasta)
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Directions

Cook the Pasta: Boil spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Add red pepper flakes (if using) and stir.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the garlic butter sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water. Squeeze lemon juice over the pasta and stir well.

Garnish and Serve: Top with freshly grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, and a sprinkle of black pepper. Serve warm and enjoy!
