Flaky Danish Pastries with Glaze
Ingredients
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1/4 cup fruit preserves (any flavor you like)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk (or as needed for glaze)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Shape the Pastries: Cut the puff pastry into 6 rectangles. Fold or twist each rectangle into your preferred shape (like braids or squares). Place on the baking sheet.
Add Filling: Spoon 1 tsp of fruit preserves onto the center of each pastry and seal edges lightly.
Egg Wash & Bake: Brush the pastries with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Drizzle & Serve: Once pastries are cooled slightly, drizzle with the glaze and enjoy your flaky, sweet treat!
