Decadent Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

Cake:

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

4 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.

Gradually add the boiling water and mix until the batter is thin and well combined.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

For the frosting, beat softened butter and cocoa powder until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until fluffy and creamy.

Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost between the layers and the top and sides of the cake.

Serve and enjoy your rich, decadent chocolate cake!
