Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta
Ingredients
For the Pasta:
12 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Shrimp:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Alfredo Sauce:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Garnish:
Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Cook the Pasta:
Boil the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Cook the Shrimp:
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Add shrimp and season with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and whisk until smooth and creamy.
Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
Toss the cooked pasta in the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and toss gently to combine.
Serve:
Plate the creamy shrimp pasta and garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of flavor and color.
