Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients
8 oz linguine or spaghetti
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain and set aside.
Sauté the shrimp:
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil.
Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
Add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Combine everything:
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet.
Add the drained pasta and toss to coat everything evenly with the sauce.
Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.
