Classic Pepper Steak Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tsp sesame oil
Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Steamed rice for serving
Instructions:

Marinate the Beef:

In a bowl, mix sliced beef, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Prepare the Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and sesame oil.
Cook the Beef:

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Sear the beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from pan.
Cook the Veggies:

In the same pan, add another 1 tbsp oil.
Stir-fry bell peppers and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
Combine & Simmer:

Return the beef to the pan.
Pour in the sauce and stir well. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
Serve:

Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Serve hot over steamed rice.

Cook Time: 15 minutes
