½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Lasagna:
12 lasagna noodles
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
:
Cook the Meat Sauce:
In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned.
Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the Ricotta Filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Cook the Lasagna Noodles:
Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside on a sheet of parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Assemble the Lasagna:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread a layer of the ricotta filling over the noodles, followed by another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of sauce on top.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
Bake the Lasagna:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
Serve:
Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve!
Enjoy your delicious homemade lasagna!
