1 tablespoon dried basil

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Cheese Mixture:

1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Lasagna:

12 lasagna noodles (cooked and drained)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Instructions:
Make the Meat Sauce:

In a large pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Simmer the sauce for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture:

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper.

Mix until smooth and well combined.

Assemble the Lasagna:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Layer 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
Top with 1/3 of the meat sauce.
Repeat the layers with 4 more noodles, the remaining cheese mixture, and another 1/3 of the meat sauce.
Finish with the last 4 noodles and top with the remaining meat sauce.

Top with Cheese:

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top of the lasagna.

Bake the Lasagna:

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Serve:

Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Enjoy:

Serve the cheesy, hearty lasagna with garlic bread or a side salad.

This cheesy lasagna is packed with layers of savory meat sauce, creamy ricotta cheese, and gooey mozzarella—perfect for any family dinner or special occasion!
