Recipes:

Cheesy Baked Penne Pasta

Ingredients:
For the pasta:

12 oz penne pasta

1 teaspoon salt for boiling water

For the sauce:

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup heavy cream

For the topping:

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:
Cook the pasta:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the sauce:

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Combine pasta and sauce:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce, tossing until the pasta is evenly coated.
Assemble the dish:

Transfer the pasta and sauce mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the top.
Bake the pasta:

Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2 minutes.
Garnish and serve:

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm and enjoy this cheesy, comforting dish!

Perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks, this baked penne is a cheesy delight that will have everyone asking for seconds!
