Snickers Caramel Tart
Indulge in this Snickers Caramel Tart, a perfect blend of sweet and salty flavors with layers of caramel, peanuts, chocolate, and peanut butter. It’s a decadent dessert that will delight any sweet tooth!
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 and 3/4 cups (220g) salted roasted peanuts, divided
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
2 Tablespoons (25g) light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (8 Tbsp; 113g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3 Tablespoons (45ml) ice water
For the Filling:
Homemade salted caramel (see note for recipe)
1 cup salted roasted peanuts, chopped
For the Topping:
6 ounces milk or semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 Tablespoons (31g) creamy peanut butter
Optional Toppings:
Chopped Snickers bar
Crushed peanuts
Extra caramel for drizzling
Instructions:
Prepare the Crust:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
In a food processor, pulse 3/4 cup of peanuts, flour, brown sugar, and salt until it resembles coarse meal.
Add the cubed cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and slowly stir in 3 Tablespoons of ice water until the dough comes together.
Press the dough tightly into a 9-inch tart pan. Line with aluminum foil or parchment and add pie weights (or prick the crust with a fork if you don’t have weights).
Bake for 18-20 minutes, then allow to cool slightly.
Prepare the Filling:
Mix the salted caramel and 1 cup of peanuts together. If the caramel was made ahead, warm it slightly for easier pouring.
Pour the caramel nut filling into the cooled crust.
Prepare the Topping:
Melt the chocolate and peanut butter together using a double boiler or microwave. If using a microwave, stir every 15 seconds until smooth.
Spread the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the caramel nut filling.
Chill and Serve:
Chill the tart in the refrigerator, uncovered, for 2-3 hours or until set.
Optional: Garnish with chopped Snickers, crushed peanuts, or extra caramel before serving.
