Crispy Fried Cheese Mac & Cheese

Crispy Fried Cheese Mac & Cheese
Ingredients:
8 oz elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
For the Crispy Fried Cheese:
1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil for frying
Fresh parsley and Parmesan for garnish
Instructions:

1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain, and set aside. 2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute. 3. Slowly add milk and heavy cream, stirring until smooth. 4. Add cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, stirring until melted. 5. Mix in cooked macaroni and remove from heat. 6. For the fried cheese, coat mozzarella cubes in flour, dip in beaten egg, and roll in breadcrumbs. 7. Heat oil in a pan and fry cheese cubes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. 8. Serve mac & cheese topped with crispy fried cheese, parsley, and Parmesan.
