Chocolate Strawberry Layer Cake

Ingredients:

Chocolate Cake:

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

1 3/4 cups (350g) granulated sugar

3/4 cup (75g) cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup (240ml) whole milk

1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup (240ml) boiling water

Filling & Topping:

2 cups (480ml) heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar

500g fresh strawberries, sliced

1/2 cup (100g) chocolate ganache (melted chocolate + cream)

Instructions:

1. Make the Chocolate Cake:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)
. Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
.

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Gradually add boiling water, stirring until combined.

Divide the batter evenly between the pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
.

Cool the cakes completely before assembling
.

2. Prepare the Whipped Cream:

Beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form
.

3. Assemble the Cake:

Place the first cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of whipped cream, followed by sliced strawberries
.

Repeat with the second layer. Top the cake with chocolate ganache, dollops of whipped cream, and whole strawberries for decoration
.
