Cheesy Steak Fries
Ingredients:
For the fries:
500 g frozen or fresh French fries
2 tbsp vegetable oil (if frying fresh)
Salt to taste
For the steak:
300 g steak (ribeye or sirloin), cooked medium-rare
Salt and black pepper, to season
For the cheese topping:
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. Prepare the fries:
If using frozen fries, bake or fry them according to the package instructions.
If using fresh potatoes, cut into fries, toss with vegetable oil, and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes until crispy. Sprinkle with salt.
2. Cook the steak:
Season the steak with salt and black pepper. Grill or pan-sear to your desired doneness (recommended: medium-rare).
Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.
3. Assemble the dish:
Place the hot fries in an oven-safe dish. Add the sliced steak on top.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the steak and fries. Add Italian seasoning and black pepper for extra flavor, if desired.
4. Melt the cheese:
Place the dish under a broiler or in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. Serve:
Serve immediately as a comforting snack or appetizer. Enjoy!
