Black Forest Trifle

Ingredients:

1 chocolate sponge cake (store-bought or homemade), crumbled

2 cups fresh whipped cream

1 cup chocolate ganache

1 cup cherry pie filling

Fresh cherries for garnish

Chocolate shavings for decoration

Instructions:

Prepare the Layers:

Crumble the chocolate sponge cake into bite-sized pieces.

Layer the Trifle:

In a large trifle bowl, start with a layer of chocolate cake crumbles.

Drizzle a generous amount of chocolate ganache over the cake.

Add a layer of whipped cream, followed by a layer of cherry pie filling.

Repeat the layers until the bowl is full, finishing with whipped cream on top.

Garnish:

Decorate the top with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings.

Chill:

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
