Crispy Mozzarella Bites Recipe

Ingredients:
16 oz mozzarella cheese (cut into bite-sized cubes)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

2 tbsp milk

1½ cups breadcrumbs (panko or Italian-style)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions:
1. Prep the Cheese Cubes:
Cut mozzarella into bite-sized cubes. Place them on a plate and freeze for about 20-30 minutes to prevent melting during frying.
2. Set Up a Breading Station:
In one shallow bowl, place the flour.
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
3. Bread the Cheese:
Dip each frozen cheese cube into the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing the excess to drip off.
Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for double coating.
4. Fry the Cheese Bites:
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the breaded cheese cubes in batches for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried bites to a paper towel-lined plate.
5. Serve and Enjoy:
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Tips:
If you don’t want to fry, bake the mozzarella bites at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes or air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes.
Experiment with seasonings like smoked paprika or chili flakes for extra flavor.
