Cheesy Meat and Gravy over Rice

Ingredients:

For the Meat and Gravy:

1 lb ground beef or chicken, diced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

2 cups beef or chicken broth

2 tbsp flour

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Rice:

1 cup rice

2 cups water

Salt, to taste

For the Cheese Topping:

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

Prepare the Rice:

Cook the rice according to package instructions, using 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt.

Set aside once cooked and fluffy.

Cook the Meat:

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.

Add the ground meat (beef or chicken) and cook until browned.

Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Add Worcestershire sauce, followed by the broth. Bring to a simmer.

Gradually add flour to thicken the gravy, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.

Assemble the Dish:

Spoon cooked rice onto a plate or baking dish.

Pour the meat and gravy mixture over the rice, spreading it evenly.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.

Place the dish in the oven or microwave to melt the cheese for 3-5 minutes, or until bubbly.
