Ultimate Cheesy Baked Macaroni
Ingredients:
1 lb elbow macaroni
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente.
Drain and set aside.
Make the Cheese Sauce:
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to create a roux.
Gradually add milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly.
Simmer until the mixture thickens.
Add the Cheeses:
Stir in cheddar, mozzarella, and Gruyère until fully melted and creamy.
Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Combine & Assemble:
Mix the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
Transfer to a greased baking dish.
Top & Bake:
Sprinkle extra shredded cheese and breadcrumbs on top for a golden crust.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Serve Hot:
Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh finish.
