Avocado & Sautéed Mushroom Toast Recipe
Ingredients
2 slices of multigrain or sourdough bread, toasted
1 ripe avocado
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Mushrooms:
1 cup mushrooms (cremini, button, or portobello), sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional, for flavor)
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, for garnish)
Toppings:
Sesame seeds (white or black)
Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro)
Instructions
Prep the Avocado:
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh.
Mash the avocado in a bowl and mix with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Sauté the Mushrooms:
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
Stir in garlic and soy sauce (if using) and cook for another minute.
Assemble the Toast:
Spread the mashed avocado generously over the toasted bread.
Top with the sautéed mushrooms.
Add Garnishes:
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the mushrooms.
Drizzle a tiny bit of sesame oil for an extra flavor kick.
Add a sprinkle of fresh herbs for color and freshness.
