Description
1 ½ lbs ground beef
1 cup French onion soup (canned or homemade)
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon olive oil
Directions:
In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil, then sauté the sliced onions until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the crockpot.
Pour the French onion soup over the meatloaf, then top with the caramelized onions.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
In the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese on top and cover until melted.
Slice and serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
