Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2/3 cup milk (or heavy cream for richer scones)
1 large egg (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:

Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
Cut in Butter:

Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients.
Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add Cheese:

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese evenly.
Combine Wet Ingredients:

Slowly pour in the milk and gently mix until just combined. (Do not overmix!)
Shape the Dough:

Bake:

Cool and Garnish:

Let the scones cool slightly.
